Anytype – a decentralized communication & knowledge management app

Designer
Since 2022

Anytype.io is a local-first communication and knowledge management app. I joined the team as the second designer in 2022, when Anytype was a closed beta. Since then, I have overseen all design aspects of the desktop and native mobile apps. As part of the core product team, I collaborated closely with stakeholders to rapidly prototype and refine strategic features for the app. My work also included defining design principles, contributing to the branding and communictaion, and crafting user-centered experiences across all platforms.

After launching the public beta in 2023, Anytype achieved 70k monthly active users and have continued to grow steadily. Over the past year, I focused on core areas of the product, including primary navigation, information accessibility through a widget system, and the first-time user experience.

Interactive self-learning geometry course for Uchi,
kids’ EdTech platform

Art director, Product Design Lead
2021

Uchi is an EdTech platform with over 13M active users. As an Art Director + Product Design Lead, I focused on launching new products, including a self-learning high school geometry course.

I led a team of two designers, conducting research with students and teachers to develop strategies that bridge abstract geometric concepts with visual representations. The course incorporates a step-by-step approach to theorem proofs and definitions, enhanced by an interactive sandbox interface for hands-on learning.

Middle School Self-Learning Products in STEM and Humanities @ Uchi

Art director, Product Design Lead
2021–2022

I led the design of a middle school learning platform, starting from scratch and collaborating with cross-functional leadership to define the product vision and strategy. The focus was on creating an engaging and scalable solution for teaching complex subjects to teenagers while ensuring a seamless and enjoyable learning experience.

Together with methodologists, I worked on methodical and editorial strategies, defined design principles, established workflows, and created visual and interaction guidelines. I co-developed a design system that supported various teaching mechanics, ensured consistency across subjects, and allowed for distinct visual identities. Within a multidisciplinary team of 30+, including 9 designers, I managed the design team directly.

This effort resulted in the successful launch of 8 high-quality middle school courses, that were used by 100,000+ students in the first month.

Professional development module for Graphic Design students

Module leader
2017–2021

For four years, I led a module for BA Graphic design students at the British Higher School of Art and Design (part of the University of Hertfordshire). The module focused on students' presence on the web – their portfolio websites.

Together with my fellow lecturers, we conducted workshops exploring theoretical approaches and critiques around the idea of a personal website. Then, students worked on metaphors for their websites to inform their design, content, and interactive strategies.

The second part of the module introduced students to the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, so in the end, students had their websites coded and published on the internet.

Orientir studio

Founder & Creative Director
2017–2020

I co-founded a design studio called Orientir. The studio worked with start-ups, cultural institutions, and IT companies. We focused on transformation and new product launches.

We worked on brand platforms, visual identities, websites, experience & product design. As a co-founder, I managed a team of 4 in-house designers and an extensive network of collaborators: developers, producers, photographers, and copywriters.

Speculative narrative about the potential of digital interactions

Concept & Development
2022

Self-reflection.online is a virtual space that narrates the influence of social psychology and intimate connections between digital interactions and users.

It consists of a website speculating about the potential of creating a virtual identity from browser data, and an AR experience that extends this concept to the physical world.

Expressive chat experience

Concept & Development
2020

A personal project explores how an interface can transform the digital communication experience.

It is a prototype of a chat app where color, sound, and animation react to the conversation's content and emotional context. Essentially, the interface becomes another actor in the dialogue.
